Traeger Timberline Pellet BBQ Review

Updated January 20268 min read

The Verdict

The Tesla of BBQs. It makes smoking brisket as easy as using an oven. If you have the budget and want guaranteed results without tending a fire for 12 hours, this is the ultimate outdoor cooking machine.

Design: Built for the Future

The Traeger Timberline Pellet BBQ doesn't look like a traditional BBQ. It looks like a piece of military hardware. The double-walled stainless steel interior insulates better than anything else we've tested, meaning it holds temperature perfectly even in the British winter.

The WiFIRE® technology isn't a gimmick. Being able to change the temperature, set timers, and monitor meat probes from your phone while you're at the pub/shops/watching TV is genuinely game-changing.

Performance: Set It and Forget It

We threw a 5kg brisket at this thing. Usually, that's a stressful 14-hour day of fire management. With the Timberline, we filled the hopper, set it to 107°C, and went to bed.

  • Super Smoke Mode: Delivers a punch of smoke at lower temps (75-105°C) that rivals stick burners.
  • Consistency: The temperature graph was a flat line. It didn't fluctuate more than a degree.
  • Versatility: It goes low enough to cold smoke salmon and high enough (260°C) to sear steaks, though it's definitely a smoker first, grill second.

Final Conclusion

It's expensive. Eye-wateringly so.

But if you value your time and want perfection every single cook, the investment makes sense. It effectively deletes the "learning curve" of BBQ. You are buying consistency, convenience, and the best ribs you've ever eaten.
